What to Expect at Your First Appointment

What to Expect at Your First Appointment

 Welcome to Skin Memory Spa.

We get many first time facials here, at all ages, and I wanted to take a moment to describe how your first appointment will go.

When you come to my suite, I will open the doors at your appointment time and welcome you inside our space. There is a small seating area outside our doors and restrooms on the opposite corner of our space.

Once inside, you get to settle in and sit in our comfortable chair, enjoy a drink, and we will go over what brought you to us for an appointment. This is your time to discuss your concerns and goals and our time to review what you currently do at home. This initial consultation period (if not booked as a stand alone consultation), will last about 20 minutes. Once we are caught up and review any allergies you might have, I step outside and close the doors.

The treatment bed is heated with a bolster for under your knees for support. A wrap is left on the bed as an option. Dress down to your comfort level. I have no preference or knowledge of what clients wear once they tuck into the bed and are under the sheet and blanket.

The facial treatments do require me to have access to your shoulders and upper chest so, if you keep a bra on, I will move the straps down. Once you have changed out of your clothes, you can wear the spa wrap if you like. It wraps around the chest, under your arms, and snaps in the front.

Once ready, tuck yourself into the bed and under the covers. I give clients a few minutes to change out so do not feel rushed. I knock before entered to ensure it is a good time and that you are settled into the treatment bed.

When I come in, I close the door and curtains for full privacy and check with you about the temperature of the bed and I adjust the bolster to ensure it is behind your knees.

If at any point you want more or less heat, just let me know. It is a quick adjustment.

The facial begins and we move into our cleansing. I check in with you during the treatment and oftentimes, client nap. Do not feel embarrassed if you fall asleep. It almost always happens and it is a wonderful sign that you are comfortable and relaxed.

The session is your time and if there is anything you want to discuss or have questions about, or if part of a treatment isn't comfortable, please let me know. We can adjust and modify anything as needed and your comfort takes priority always.

When the treatment is over, I step outside the room and give you privacy to get up and change into your clothes. After a few minutes I knock and see if it is good time to come back in.

The time spent together is yours. Always know that communication is welcome as it is time made for you, for your needs.
