When I embarked on this second career, I was not eager to open my own spa, but here we are and I did just that. After years in consulting, I really wanted to avoid management stressors but, in the end I realized I can have a business, a spa, be what I want it to be.
That vision was to have a business that gives back, in a big way and that, we sure do.
Skin Memory Spa helps support our non profit, OUR CULTURE IS GIVING. This nonprofit provides critical care and services to US allies left behind in Afghanistan. We also focus on medical care, post assault care, and more. We have a large team there doing some incredible but, dangerous work. We believe you can invest in yourself, via selfcare and pampering, yet have a twofold impact and also help another woman or girl who is in critical need of care also.
That is what we are working to do. For Spring and Summer 2025 alone, we provided free medical exams, medication, baby food, prenatal vitamins, and personal care items to over 5000 women and children in Afghanistan.
This Fall and Winter, we will provide extensive care to treat women and kids suffering with the often fatal sand fly parasitic infections.
Beyond this, we give back in our community and believe in paying it forward. We donate our services to other local businesses to help fundraise to help underserved women and kids in our community. Additionally, we partner with another local non profit for job shadowing for young adults with disabilities.
We strongly believe in investing in our clients and providing VALUE. We are not the cheapest spa in town, we do not strive to be. There is a price paid somewhere by someone when prices are low- that could be cutting corners, lower skill level of staff, no continuing education, low pay for staff, poor staff retention, poor customer service, pressure to sell to every single client with aggressive sales or upgrades, low quality products and so on.
We include so many add-ons in our treatments that no other spa does or will do. We do not believe in nickel and diming our clients. We also invest in our clients, offer free products, surprise free facials (esp for our teachers, social workers, nurses, civil servants etc)., and we heavily reward our regular clients with huge promo specials.
Value comes in many forms and we believe value comes in quality, exceeding expectations, giving more anytime we can, and helping our local community and beyond.
We are not the run of the mill spa, and that's the point.
