Meet the Founder, Leslie Merriman
Skin Memory was born from a simple belief: skincare should be a form of self-care and personal investment in your well being.
Before entering the skincare industry, I spent more than two decades in information management (knowledge management and library management), working with organizations including ADP, Harvard University, the National Institutes of Health, Hogan Lovells, and Nixon Peabody. Working alongside top-tier professionals taught me the value of integrity, precision, and evidence-based decision making—principles that continue to guide every aspect of Skin Memory today.
My journey into skincare began much earlier, with my grandmother. After immigrating to the United States from France in the 1960s, she created simple skincare rituals in our kitchen. Money was often tight, but skincare was her way of caring for herself, finding moments of peace, and reconnecting with herself after long days spent caring for others.
Watching her taught me that skincare is about much more than appearance. It can be restorative, empowering, and deeply personal.
After a decorated career in information management, I chose to pursue a lifelong passion and retrained as a skincare professional. I founded Skin Memory to create the kind of space I believe people need today: one that prioritizes skin health, thoughtful care, and genuine human connection.
Many of our clients come to us seeking more than visible results. They arrive carrying stress, burnout, grief, anxiety, or the demands of everyday life. That's why our treatments are designed not only to support healthy skin, but also to provide a sense of calm, comfort, and restoration.
My commitment to caring for others extends beyond the treatment room. For more than 30 years, I have volunteered in humanitarian, refugee, and immigration advocacy. I also established a nonprofit organization that provides critical support to women and children living under Taliban rule in Afghanistan. These experiences have reinforced my belief that every person deserves to be treated with dignity, compassion, and respect.
At Skin Memory, we welcome everyone. We are proudly LGBTQ+ friendly, trauma-informed, and committed to creating a safe, inclusive environment where every client feels seen, valued, and cared for.
Thank you for trusting us with your skin, your time, and your well-being. It is an honor to be part of your journey.
