Nano needling is in the same family as micro needling yet, is much safer and equally result driven. Micro needling is typically done at a depth of over .25mm in the skin, upwards to 2.00mm. At these depths, numbing is required and risks increase significantly from infection, discoloration, scarring and worsening acne. At these aggressive depths of treatment, the skin goes into a wound repair cycle and in doing so, it closes down absorption of topicals. Often when micro needling is done (at deeper than .25mm, a client is upsold various boosters to enhance results yet, those boosters do a whole lot of nothing. The skin will not absorb anything - as a protective means- once an injury impacts the dermis.
With nano needling, the needling is controlled and more shallow in the skin. The skin has not started blocking absorption because we are not attacking the dermis. This is when the skin actually benefits from the use of enhancing boosters.
